This weekend saw the second round of the BDC Pro class at Silverstone and Pipercross sponsored Team Green where there.
With the weather hotting up no one was prepared for what turned out to be the hottest day this year. With the sun pushing nearly 30 degrees it was going to test some cars to the limit, on the other hand the extreme heat meant that there would be a whole new level of grip on offer to the drivers allowing them to push harder and faster!
As the guys started on their practice runs Paul’s car came in with a turbo fault, rather than blowing the turbo he decided to retire and come back to fight in the next round.
Both Alan and Matt we’re going strong in qualifying and both managed to get into the top 16. The first pairing saw Matt up against Shane Lynch in the Japspeed V8 nissan. Unfortunately Matt broke his driver shaft in the warm up which ruled him out and gave Shane the win. Not before Doristars managed to catch this awesome picture of Matt in full flight.
Up next was Alan against Simon Perry in the skyline owners R33 gts-t, Matt and Simon both had an impressive first run coming in 5-5. On the second run though Alan had a very uncharacteristic spin which handed a 10-0 win to Simon.
It ended up being a Japspeed 1 & 2 with Driftworks in 3rd. The next round will be at Lydden Hill on the 19th June, with this being one of the best circuits of the season expect some action from the the Team Green boys.
